Phillipians 4;4,6b

Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, Lansing at 3815 S Cedar St., Lansing, MI 48910-4501 US - Charismatic Prayer Group

Charismatic Prayer Group

Welcome! If this is your first time, name exchanging will be a part of that welcome and perhaps an introduction or two, to make you feel at home. An opening song of praise or worship calls the group to focus on the Lord. A few opening remarks of why we are gathered, namely to give God praise, honor, thanks and worship. Then we begin! The meeting unfolds with more worshipful songs. Between songs people pray aloud, some softly others with lifted voices. As this continues different people will share. One may have a bible passage, another may have some words that they sense the Lord would have them speak. Another time someone may begin to sing in tongues and others join in to make beautiful harmony, praising the Lord! The meeting is relaxed. There is time for people to share what the Lord has been doing in their lives, like answered prayer for healing or a new peacefulness in a relationship. Each week bring to light new blessings! Some people will ask for prayer. This may be for themselves, situations in their lives or for others. Some need a healing, a friend may need a job, and children may need help as they grow up and are testing the world. Request for prayer is then taken up by those in attendance, each vocalizing in their own words to God for the answer that He knows is needed. There is usually a short talk. Words to encourage, bring hope for our needs and that of the Body of Christ. Scripture, testimonies, readings and stories are used to help us know the love and Power of God more fully in our lives. Perhaps more song and prayer! But too soon the time is ended and with a few final announcements, a final song, the meeting ends. People are encouraged to stay and socialize, ask for personal prayers. This is what one see's on the outside, but for me the time is one in which the renewing of my spirit, by the power of the Holy Spirit is most powerful! Sure the songs and words of the people help but His Spirit has a way of taking all that happens and lifts me closer to Him. The words of Jesus in scripture "I will be with you always" become more alive in me! That's a blessing that I need to continue to meet the day to day task that makes up my life. And that is Good News! Meeting at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish every Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the Church, and would like to invite all to come and worship, praise, give glory to God in prayer, song and Word.

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. II Chronicles 7:14
