A website worth checking out www.benefitscheckup.org Millions of seniors and caregivers are unaware of the many government and other assistance programs that are meant specifically to address their health care and other needs. In fact, billions of dollars go unspent each year, because until now it has been extremely difficult to find information about these programs. Quickly and easily we can determine the benefits they qualify for and how to claim them. This site was created specifically for 55 or older. Pull up this website, complete a confidential 12-15 minute questionnaire and determine the likely eligibility for virtually all the currently available federal and state public benefits. The printable report even tells you where to go and what to take with you to apply. Its database includes all the eligibility rules for nearly 1,000 public benefit programs and is continuously updating it. In fact, in the first six months online, Benefits Check Up generated about 500,000 reports. The end result was an average of $868 in benefits to low income users. Get the word out on this new tool and if possible, offer yours services to elderly who cannot operate a computer. This is a way to get people the help they really need. Think of it this way: 3.7 million older Americans are eligible for, but do not receive food stamps. More than a million elderly do not participate in SSI. Nearly 47% of low-income elderly who qualify for Medicaid do not participate in the program. 29 states have underutilized pharmacy assistance programs.
