How do I qualify? If you are over 60, have a limited income and can volunteer 20 hrs. a week. Are there benefits for being a Senior Companions? -A modest tax-free stipend -Transportation assistance -Paid vacation and sick days -A hot meal if feasible -Accident & liability insurance while on duty -Annual physical examination -Personal growth and development by helping others. What things can Senior Companions do?

Conversation Reminiscing Playing Games Assisting in arts and crafts Taking walks/exercising Going with client to recreational and social activities Sharing A meal Some personal grooming Reading and letterwriting Providing respite care A friendship that can last a lifetime Senior Companions become part of a team of caregivers. They alert doctors and family members to potential health problems. Senior Companions also provide short periods of relief to primary caregivers such as family members.
